Metropolitan Extension Best Practices: Existing literature and using EndNote

Wednesday Nov 18, 2015 12-1 pm PDT.

Within the last couple of years, the role, visibility, and impact of extension programs in urban and metropolitan communities has received increasing attention: the Western Center for Metropolitan Extension and Research (WCMER) and the National Urban Extension Leaders (NUEL) network were formed, A National Framework for Urban Extension was developed and adopted by the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP). Additionally, across the nation Extension programs are critically assessing and evaluating their programs and developing new models of delivery for Extension in metropolitan communities.

With this as a backdrop, a WCMER research fellow conducted an extensive literature review of peer-reviewed articles, reports, factsheets, and other appropriate literature. These were compiled into and EndNote database and categorized by topic and program areas. Once finalized, WCMER will make this database accessible to the public.

This webinar will present the findings of this literature review, demonstrate how the articles are organized within the database, provide a brief overview of how to use EndNote, and discuss how these data will be used in upcoming publications and research opportunities.
