Knowledge and Practice Networks
The National Urban Research & Extension Center (NUREC) bridges the gap between community and research by applying the power and reach of the land grant university system, grounded in Extension’s community-centered approach, to address our nation’s urban challenges. Following our mission to focus first and foremost on issues facing urban communities, NUREC recently launched three Knowledge and Practice Networks:
These networks, led by land grant university-based experts and supported by NUREC staff, are where urban-focused Extension practitioners and researchers, along with our partners in local government and NGO’s, can collaborate on cutting-edge research and Extension best practices.
If you wish to be a part of a Knowledge & Practice Network, engagement options include:
- Network Leader/Co-Leader: These members will serve in a leadership role for the network. They will work collaboratively across networks to build synergies, shape and sharpen research agendas, and share opportunities that advance the overall mission of NUREC.
- Core Members: These members are central to the formation and operation of each network. Core members are the owners of the purposes, goals, and actions of the network; demonstrate its core values, fulfill its roles and responsibilities, and operate the network effectively in order to serve clients and stakeholders. Core members provide leadership to working groups.
- Affiliate Members: These members have a particular interest in participating in one or more of the working groups to identify priorities, set specific network goals, and address opportunities or issues related to the working group’s funding, research, communications, and development.
- Information Members: These members want to receive and contribute information but are not actively engaged in a working group or task for the network. These members may provide links to resources that advance improvements and opportunities with NUREC.
If you are interested in becoming a member of one or more of the Knowledge & Practice Networks, please fill out this form.
