Jody Norman is a sustainability writer and consultant with a passion toward the realization of cities as systemic regenerative frameworks that create, support, and advance the well-being of individuals, communities, and the Earth. She possess several master’s degrees, the most recent being a city and regional degree with an emphasis on environmental policy. She has written articles, taught college courses, and worked as a consultant and researcher. She previously served as a community partner to Colorado State University’s Denver Extension in a project with the Kettering Foundation. She also worked for Denver Extension as a project specialist which included her time as a fellow. She currently works for Washington State University where she is NUREC Urban Extension Specialist.

Best Practices for Policy Practitioners in Extension

Jody’s fellowship focused on conducting a policy scan of Extension-related documents to identify best practices, assess successful enactment, and analyze common gaps and obstacles. The work emphasized identifying actionable takeaways and future directions to support Urban Extension professionals in navigating and influencing policy landscapes across diverse urban contexts.
