Building-Integrated Agriculture
In collaboration with Oregon State University and the University of Oregon, NUREC received funding from the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to assess and advance the state of building-integrated agriculture (BIA) in the United States.

Building Collaborative Research and Extension Networks to Advance the Conduct and Application of Science with Urban Communities
To support urban research and implementation, NUREC is providing leadership on a National Research Support Project. If funded, this project will support researchers, Extension professionals, community practitioners, and metropolitan leaders by reinforcing productive connections between public, land-grant universities and urban communities.
Knowledge and Practice Networks
These networks, led by land grant university-based experts, are where urban-focused Extension practitioners and researchers, along with our partners in local government and NGO’s, can collaborate on cutting-edge research and Extension best practices.
Listening Sessions: The Future Workforce for Building-Integrated Agriculture
These sessions are designed to gather insights directly from those shaping the built environment today. What skills are missing? Where are the hiring gaps? How can we better prepare the next generation of workers to thrive in this cross-sector, sustainability-focused industry?

Sustainable Urban Systems
This by-invitation only workshop brought together a select group of 40 experts across an array of disciplines and sectors to identify priority research areas that a research network could promote for improving urban systems sustainability.
